Ein Sieg von eines der vier Grand-Slam-Turniere wird für Tennisspieler im Durchschnitt mit rund 2.726.000 Euro prämiert. Im Gegensatz zu vielen anderen Sportarten erhalten die weiblichen sowie männlichen Spieler dabei die gleiche Summe für den Erfolg. Neben den Grand-Slam Turnieren wird auch bei den ATP Finals mit 1.135.000 Euro ein Millionenbetrag für den Sieger ausgelobt.
Tour de France bei Prämien für Rennradfahrer vorn
Die Prämien für die großen Fahrrad-Events fallen dagegen deutlich niedriger aus: Für den Gewinn der prestigeträchtigen und 22 Tage andauernden Tour de France erhält der Sieger 500.000 Euro. Wesentlich weniger bekommen die Sportler beim Giro d'Italia oder Vuelta a España. Das Preisgeld beziffert sich hier auf 266.000 Euro beziehungsweise 150.000 Euro. Noch niedriger sind die Prämien bei der Straßenrad-WM: Der Titel bringt den männlichen und weiblichen Weltmeistern nur 7.667 Euro ein.
Millionen-Unterschiede bei den Teamsportarten
Der Gewinner der Fußball Champions League bekommt neben dem Pokal und Medaille rund 66 Millionen Euro ausgezahlt. Damit ist die Fußball Champions League das am besten dotierte Turnier unter den Teamsportarten. Auch bei anderen Fußballturnieren fließen Millionenbeträge für die Sieger. So erhält der Sieger des DFB-Pokalfinales rund 10 Millionen Euro. Zum Vergleich: Die 53 Personen aus dem Gewinnerteam des US-Superbowls teilen sich rund 5 Millionen Euro.
Geringe Preisgelder bei Ballsportarten
Noch geringer sind die Gewinne bei anderen Ballsportarten. So beläuft sich das Preisgeld der Basketball Champions League auf 1 Million Euro. Die Prämie der Eishockey WM liegt bei rund 700.000 Euro.
