Die Veranstaltung des Sächsischen Fußball-Verbandes, der Hochschule Mittweida zusammen mit dem MDR ist ab 10 Uhr im Livestream bei sport-im-osten.de zu sehen.
Zur Geschichte: Mit 62:22 Stimmen wurde am 28. Januar 1900 in der Leipziger Gaststätte "Mariengarten" der Deutsche Fußball-Bund (DFB) gegründet und Professor Ferdinand Hueppe zum ersten Vorsitzenden gewählt. 120 Jahre später hat Fritz Keller beim DFB als Präsident das Sagen. Am 28. Januar kommt er zur Geburtstagsfeier nach Leipzig und spricht zusammen mit MDR-Sportchef Raiko Richter, dem Präsidenten des Sächsischen Fußball-Verbandes, Hermann Winkler, und dem Rektor der Hochschule Mittweida, Professor Ludwig Hilmer, über Geschichte, Gegenwart und Zukunft des deutschen, vor allem des ostdeutschen Fußballs.
Der Osten muss präsenter werden
Laut Raiko Richter, MDR-Hauptredaktionsleiter Sport, sollte bei Jubiläen wie dem DFB-Geburtstag auch darauf hingewiesen werden, dass der Osten präsenter sein muss. "Ich denke da im Fußball an die Vergabe von Länderspielen, Maßnahmen oder Institutionen. Wir sind als 'Sport im Osten' auch die Stimme des Ostens, nehmen Stimmungen und Wünsche der Menschen in unserer Region auf und transportieren diese. Die Menschen hier wollen einfach mehr einbezogen werden. Wir sind immer mehr auch Empfänger - und nicht nur Sender."
Verschiedene Fußball-Themen werden diskutiert
In der von Stephanie Müller-Spirra moderierten Gesprächsrunde "120 Jahre DFB - Von der Gründung zur Moderne" geht es neben dem Fußball im Osten unter anderem um die bevorstehende Fußball-EM 2020, um Frauenfußball und E-Sport. Thematisiert werden aber auch die Schattenseiten des Fußballs, wie Gewalt gegen Schiedsrichter.

On the occasion of the 120th anniversary of the DFB, a round table discussion with DFB President Fritz Keller will take place on 28 January at Büttnerstrasse 10 in Leipzig. Various football topics are discussed
In the panel discussion "120 Years of the DFB - From the Foundation to Modernity", moderated by Stephanie Müller-Spirra, the focus will be not only on football in the East, but also on the upcoming European Football Championship 2020, women's football and e-sports. The dark sides of football, such as violence against referees, will also be discussed.
