Deshalb hätten sie eine faire Lastenteilung verweigert. "Wir arbeiten immer noch im Rahmen der Integration die Folgen von damals ab, haben aber ein geordnetes System der Aufnahme: Der Bund entscheidet und verteilt Flüchtlinge auf die Länder und diese auf die Kommunen. Das dürfen wir nicht über den Haufen werfen und den gleichen Mechanismus wie damals auslösen." Alle EU-Staaten, nicht nur Deutschland, sähen das Schicksal der Kinder, betonte Schuster.
