Nach einem Bericht der Düsseldorfer "Rheinischen Post" unter Berufung auf eine Umfrage eines Branchenverbandes haben oder erwarten vier Fünftel der Künstler drastische Einkommensausfälle. Jeder Dritte geht davon aus, in Zukunft seine künstlerische Tätigkeit einschränken zu müssen.
Der Bundesverband Bildender Künstlerinnen und Künstler (BBK), der die Umfrage startete, kritisierte zugleich, dass die von den Corona-Auflagen besonders betroffenen Künstler von den Unterstützungsversuchen des Staates nur unzureichend erreicht werden. "Die Soforthilfen greifen in den meisten Bundesländern nur bedingt", sagte BBK-Vorsitzende Dagmar Schmidt.
Ausfallhonorare für freischaffende Künstler
Die Soforthilfen müssten dringend nachgebessert werden. Aus Sicht der SPD-Politikerin Katrin Budde, der Vorsitzenden des Bundestags-Kulturausschusses, sind Künstler "doppelt gefährdet". Auf der einen Seite arbeiteten viele freiberuflich oder soloselbständig und könnten daher nicht von den Kurzarbeiterregeln profitieren. Zum anderen seien sie auf den unmittelbaren Kontakt mit dem Publikum angewiesen.. Die kulturpolitische Sprecherin der Union, Elisabeth Motschmann, forderte Länder, Rundfunkanstalten und Kirchen auf, so zu verfahren wie bundesgeförderte Kultureinrichtung und Ausfallhonorare für freischaffende Künstler zu zahlen. pm, ots

In the opinion of SPD politician Katrin Budde, the chair of the Bundestag's cultural committee, artists are "doubly endangered". On the one hand, many are working freelance or on their own and could therefore not benefit from the short-time work rules. On the other hand, they are dependent on direct contact with the public.
