Dem Beispiel sollten auch die Zulassungsbehörden folgen und klinische Studienberichte zu allen COVID-19-Arzneimitteln und -Impfstoffen unmittelbar am Tag der Marktzulassung veröffentlichen.
Das fordert Bundesärztekammer-Präsident Klaus Reinhardt. Er unterstützt damit einen entsprechenden Appell des Instituts für Qualität und Wirtschaftlichkeit im Gesundheitswesen (IQWiG ) und der Cochrane Collaboration an die Europäische Arzneimittelagentur. Reinhardt sagte, dass vollständige Transparenz über Methoden und Ergebnisse klinischer Studien zu Covid-19 die weitere Entwicklung von Wirkstoffen beschleunigen könnten. "Corona lässt sich nur gemeinsam bezwingen. Deshalb ist die Initiative des IQWIG gut und richtig", so der Bundesärztekammer-Präsident.
Gleichberechtigten Zugang zu Medikamenten und Impfstoffen
Reinhardt spricht sich in diesem Zusammenhang auch dafür aus, dass die Weltgemeinschaft Regelungen für einen gleichberechtigten Zugang der Staaten zu Medikamenten und Impfstoffen gegen das Coronavirus schafft. Die internationale Zusammenarbeit bei Forschungsvorhaben und deren Finanzierung sei vorbildlich. Dies habe nicht zuletzt die internationale Geberkonferenz zur Finanzierung der globalen Impfstoffforschung gezeigt. Diese Solidarität müsse auch nach der Zulassung eines Impfstoffes beibehalten werden. "Angesichts der globalen Bedrohung durch Corona sind Exklusivverträge einzelner Staaten zur Erstnutzung von Medikamenten und Impfstoffen gegen das Virus ethisch und epidemiologisch nicht zu rechtfertigen", so Reinhardt.

"In view of the global threat posed by corona, exclusive contracts between individual states for the first use of drugs and vaccines against the virus cannot be justified ethically and epidemiologically," said Reinhardt.
