"Die Bafin ist nicht mehr auf Augenhöhe mit den neuen Entwicklungen am Kapitalmarkt", sagte Lindner der "Neuen Osnabrücker Zeitung" (NOZ). Die Aufsichtsbehörde müsse internationaler arbeiten können und brauche mehr Wissen über die internationalen Kapitalmärkte.
"Sie braucht mit Sicherheit eine personelle Verstärkung, damit sie die komplizierten Vorgänge und Strukturen auch wirklich verstehen und prüfen kann", sagte Lindner. "Es muss aufgearbeitet werden, warum die Bafin nicht aus eigener Initiative eine vertiefte Prüfung der Vorgänge vorgenommen hat. Es gab über Monate Berichterstattung über Manipulationen. Das hätte ein Anlass sein müssen für eine detaillierte Tiefenprüfung dieses Finanzmarktakteurs", so der FDP-Vorsitzende.
Es geht um mögliche Luftbuchungen
In dem Bilanzskandal geht es um mutmaßliche Luftbuchungen in Höhe von 1,9 Milliarden Euro, die den Konzern Wirecard an den Rand des Abgrunds geführt haben. Lindner sieht die Integrität der Marktwirtschaft durch den Fall infrage gestellt. "Damit können Effekte entstehen, die jetzt noch gar nicht absehbar sind - wie damals bei der Enron-Pleite in den Vereinigten Staaten", warnte Lindner. Es stehe die Frage im Raum, warum die Bankenaufsicht Bafin sich nicht zu einem sehr viel früheren Zeitpunkt eingeschaltet habe.
Auch kleine Finanzvermittler werden künftig von. der Bafin
"In der nächsten Woche will der Deutsche Bundestag beschließen, dass kleine Finanzvermittler nicht mehr von der örtlichen Gewerbeaufsicht kontrolliert werden, sondern von der Bafin. Es gibt also kleinen Finanzvermittlern gegenüber ein Misstrauen der Politik, aber ein ganz offensichtliches Versagen der Bafin bei einem so großen Dienstleister wie Wirecard.
