Dazu zählen FFP2, FFP3 und medizinische Gesichtsmasken. Das Wirtschaftsministerium investiert 60 Millionen Euro an Fördermitteln, damit die Firmen ihre Produktion entsprechend umstellen. Gefördert werden zudem Anlagen, die das sogenannte Filtervlies für die Masken produzieren, durch das Viren abgehalten werden. Über welche Produktionskapazitäten Deutschland aktuell verfügt, dazu konnte das Wirtschaftsministerium keine Angaben machen. "Auch gibt es keinen detaillierten Überblick darüber, wie viele Masken pro Tag in welcher Qualität produziert werden können", hieß es.
