Die gemeinsam mit Kooperationspartner Sportbuzzer durchgeführte Befragung ergab im Wesentlichen folgende Ergebnisse: Grundsätzlich sind zwar mehr als 52 Prozent der Befragten der Meinung, Geisterspiele in ihrer aktuellen Form seien nicht akzeptabel - aber trotzdem konstatieren mehr als 60 Prozent der DFL, ein gutes Konzept für den Liga-Start inmitten der Corona-Zeiten ausgearbeitet zu haben.
Das Statement "Ich war froh darüber, dass die Bundesliga wieder im TV kam" erhielt 65 Prozent Zustimmung. Entgegen dieses eher positiven Stimmungsbildes sind aber trotzdem fast 50 Prozent der Meinung, dem Fußball sei hier eine unberechtigte Sonderrolle eingeräumt worden.
Ohne Fans fehlt dem Fußball die "Faszination"
Und 85 Prozent stimmten der These zu, der Fußball habe ohne die Fans seine Faszination verloren. Interessant auch der Blick nach vorne, in die kommende Saison. Denn fast 65 Prozent Zustimmung unter den Fußballfans erntet das Statement, die Saison 2020/21 solle erst starten, wenn wieder Fans in den Stadien zugelassen sind.
Am Ende der insgesamt 14 Fragen stellten die Fans eine Gesamtnote von 4,2 für die Geisterspiele aus. In der Schule mit Vier Minus quasi grade noch bestanden.

In a survey of more than 3,500 football fans, "FC PlayFair! Verein für Integrität im Profifußball (FC PlayFair! Club for Integrity in Professional Football) determined the opinion of the fans regarding the ghost games of the past season.
