Das DFB-Präsidium hat in einer Telefonkonferenz einvernehmlich festgehalten, den seit März 2019 eingeschlagenen Weg der Erneuerung der Nationalmannschaft mit Bundestrainer Joachim Löw uneingeschränkt fortzusetzen.
Das Präsidium folgte damit einer Empfehlung des Präsidialausschusses und von Oliver Bierhoff, Direktor Nationalmannschaften & Akademie. Es hatten sich zunächst die Mitglieder des Präsidialausschusses (Präsident Fritz Keller, 1. Vizepräsident Amateure Rainer Koch, 1. Vizepräsident Profifußball Peter Peters, Schatzmeister Stephan Osnabrügge; Generalsekretär Friedrich Curtius fehlte krankheitsbedingt) mit Oliver Bierhoff und Joachim Löw in Frankfurt am Main getroffen. Es war dem Bundestrainer wichtig, in einem offenen, konstruktiven und intensiven Austausch die aktuelle Lage, die Niederlage gegen Spanien und die bevorstehenden Monate bis zur Europameisterschaft zu erörtern. Dabei hat Joachim Löw die Beteiligten über seine Einschätzungen, Vorstellungen und die weiteren Planungen informiert.
Hochqualitative Arbeit
Die Mitglieder des Präsidialausschusses stellten übereinstimmend fest, dass die hochqualitative Arbeit des Trainerstabes, das intakte Verhältnis zwischen Mannschaft und Trainer sowie ein klares Konzept für das bisherige und weitere Vorgehen zählen. Ein einzelnes Spiel kann und darf nicht Gradmesser für die grundsätzliche Leistung der Nationalmannschaft und des Bundestrainers sein.
Wichtige sportliche Ziele erreicht
Das DFB-Präsidium ist sich einig: Auf dem Weg zur EM 2021 sind bereits wichtige sportliche Ziele erreicht worden – darunter die EM-Qualifikation, der Verbleib in Liga A der Nations League und die Positionierung im ersten Lostopf bei der WM-Qualifikation. Entsprechend hat Joachim Löw weiterhin das Vertrauen des DFB-Präsidiums.
Spanien-Spiel war eine Enttäuschung
In dem Gespräch mit dem Bundestrainer und in der nachfolgenden Telefonkonferenz des DFB-Präsidiums ist die Niederlage der Nationalmannschaft gegen Spanien ebenfalls diskutiert worden. Für alle – die Spieler, den Bundestrainer, den DFB, die Fans und die fußballinteressierte Öffentlichkeit – war das 0:6 gegen Spanien eine Enttäuschung.
Fokussieren auf die EM-Vorbereitung
Gemeinsam geht der Blick zielgerichtet und fokussiert auf die weitere EM-Vorbereitung im nächsten Jahr. Es besteht die feste Überzeugung, dass Joachim Löw und sein Trainerteam trotz einer für alle herausfordernden Situation erfolgreiche Spiele und Ergebnisse liefern werden. Der Bundestrainer wird alle nötigen Maßnahmen ergreifen, um mit der Mannschaft eine begeisternde EM 2021 zu spielen. Zustimmung erhält auch die Einschätzung des Bundestrainers, dass nachfolgende Turniere – konkret die WM 2022 in Katar und die EM 2024, die im eigenen Land stattfindet – als Perspektiven und sportliche Ziele bereits zum jetzigen Zeitpunkt in den weiteren sportlichen und personellen Überlegungen eine Rolle spielen müssen. pm, Quelle: DFB

The national team's defeat against Spain was also discussed in the meeting with the national coach and in the subsequent telephone conference of the DFB presidium. Focus on the preparation for the European Championship
