Beyer betonte weiter, ein US-Präsident stehe nach wie vor für die freie Welt, für Demokratie, Sicherheit, Wohlstand und Rechtsstaatlichkeit. "Biden allemal. Sein Besuch würde zur Verbesserung des Images der USA in Deutschland beitragen." Mit dem neuen Präsidenten böte sich zudem die Chance, das transatlantische Verhältnis zu stärken.
