Die Sängerin der "Beer Bitches" und Präsidentin der alternativen Karnevals-Sitzung "Deine Sitzung" bedauert die Folgen der Corona-Krise für die karnevalistische Hochburg Köln auch persönlich sehr: "Dass der Straßenkarneval ausfällt, ist natürlich scheiße, das tut jedem Kölner im Herzen weh."
Trotzdem feiern ist keine Option
An Karneval trotzdem zu feiern, sei für sie aber keine Option: "Klar würde man gerne eine Pizza essen gehen oder Leute treffen. Aber jetzt zu sagen: Scheiß drauf, kommt Karneval halt zu uns, da hätte ich viel zu viel Respekt vor, weil ich zu viele Leute kenne, die Corona haben oder hatten. Ein Freund von mir hat seit Monaten keinen Geruchs- und Geschmackssinn mehr. Da fehlen dir zwei komplette Sinnesorgane und das wird noch nicht mal als schwerer Verlauf bezeichnet."
Höchststrafe für Künstler
Karnevals-Konzerte in Autokinos oder Sitzungen im Digitalformat sind für Carolin Kebekus kein Ersatz für jecke Live-Events: "Als Künstler ist es die Höchststrafe, kein Publikum zu haben. Irgendwie gewöhnt man sich zwar daran. Aber das ist kein Dauerzustand und auch finanziell nicht in Ordnung. Von Autokino-Konzerten und Streams kann keiner leben." pm, ots

But to say: fuck it, come to Carnival, I would have far too much respect for that, because I know too many people who have or had Corona. A friend of mine has had no sense of smell or taste for months. You're missing two complete sensory organs and that's not even called a severe progression."
Maximum penalty for artists
For Carolin Kebekus, carnival concerts in drive-in cinemas or sessions in digital format are no substitute for jecke live events: "As an artist, it is the ultimate punishment not to have an audience.
