Inka Grings, dreimalige deutsche Fußballerin des Jahres, konnte die Italiener nach ihrem 3:0-Sieg gegen die Schweiz nur loben.
"Ich finde es extrem beeindruckend, dass sie wahnsinnig harmonisch fungieren. Man sieht wirklich den Zusammenhalt. Sie feiern zusammen. In der 89. Minute verteidigen die noch mit neun Mann. Man sieht den absoluten Willen und die Entschlossenheit ... Das ist beeindruckend. Es ist erst das 2. Spiel, aber du musst erstmal so auftreten über 90 Minuten und das habe ich bisher bei keiner Mannschaft gesehen."

Ciro Immobile konnte beim 3:0 ohne Gegnerdruck den Ball annehmen und aus 20 Metern ins Eck schieben. Das hatte für Inka Grings nichts mit gesunder Einstellung bei den Schweizern zu tun: "Das ist zu einfach. Er kann 20 Meter vor dem Tor den Ball annehmen, sich drehen, kann sich den Ball dann nochmal vorlegen und danke sagen. Das ist für eine EM, bei der es noch um Platz drei geht, viel zu wenig. Man sah heute nicht das Kollektiv, dass jeder für jeden gefightet hat. Dass jeder auch unbedingt wollte oder es zumindest versucht hat. Da kann man natürlich Vermutungen anstellen, dass es in der Mannschaft nicht ganz so rund läuft. Das hat man in der Körpersprache gesehen, dass sie unzufrieden waren, viel gemeckert haben und stehen geblieben sind. Das Ganze im 2. Gruppenspiel, in dem es um unfassbar viel ging... Ich glaube, dass in der Schweizer Mannschaft aktuell nicht alles das Gelbe vom Ei ist."
"Es gibt die Regel der Unmittelbarkeit"
Patrick Ittrich, Schiedsrichter-Experte, über das wegen Hand aberkannte Tor von Chiellini: "Es gibt diese Regel der Unmittelbarkeit. Die hat sich auch nicht verändert. Der Ball ist nun mal an der Hand und die FIFA sagt, dass man keine Tore mit der Hand erzielen soll in der Unmittelbarkeit. Das galt im letzten Jahr noch für die Mitspieler, jetzt gilt es nur für denjenigen, der das Tor erzielt. Es ist halt für alle gleich.
