Ein "komplexer Angriff" hat heute im Umfeld des Flughafens der afghanischen Hauptstadt Kabul, wo eine massive internationale Luftbrücke im Gange ist, nach Angaben des Pentagons eine Reihe von amerikanischen und zivilen Opfern gefordert.
Pentagon-Sprecher John Kirby sagte, eine Explosion habe sich am Abbey Gate des Flughafens ereignet und es habe "mindestens eine weitere" Explosion im nahe gelegenen Baron Hotel gegeben. Nach Medienberichten, soll es mindestens sechs Tote und 60 Verletzte gehandelt haben. Die Anschläge auf dem Flughafen und dem Baron Hotel hätten Selbstmordattentäter verübt. A "complex attack" claimed a number of American and civilian lives today around the airport in the Afghan capital Kabul, where a massive international airlift is underway, according to the Pentagon.
Pentagon spokesman John Kirby said one explosion occurred at the airport's Abbey Gate and there was "at least one other" explosion at the nearby Baron Hotel. According to media reports, at least six people were killed and 60 injured. The attacks on the airport and the Baron Hotel were carried out by suicide bombers. No German soldiers were injured in the attack. The last German soldiers, police officers and diplomats were flown out of Kabul today. mei
