Dies gilt insbesondere für Befragte, die 60 Jahre und älter sind (71 %) sowie für Anhänger der SPD (69 %) gefolgt von CDU/CSU (65 %) und der AfD (61 %).

30 Prozent der Bundesbürger sind dagegen der Meinung, dass der Verkauf von Cannabis in Deutschland generell erlaubt werden sollte. Am ehesten befürworten die jüngeren, unter 45 Jahre alten Befragten (30- bis 44-Jährige: 41 %; 14- bis 29-Jährige: 39 %) sowie die Anhänger der der Linkspartei (50 %), der Grünen (48 %) und der FDP (43 %) eine generelle Legalisierung von Cannabis. Lediglich 7 Prozent der Befragten sind der Ansicht, dass Cannabis generell verboten werden sollte.

Die meisten Befragten (61 %) glauben, dass eine Legalisierung von Cannabis dazu führen würde, dass mehr junge Menschen als bisher in Kontakt damit kommen. Dies glauben insbesondere die über 60-Jährigen (71 %) sowie die Anhänger der Union (76 %) und der AfD (67 %).

Jeder vierte Befragte (24 %) gibt an, selbst schon einmal Cannabis-Produkte konsumiert bzw. ausprobiert zu haben. Dies gilt insbesondere für Befragte unter 45 Jahren (30- bis 44-Jährige: 37 %; 14- bis 29-Jährige: 28 %) sowie die Anhänger der Grünen und FDP (jeweils 41 %) und der Linkspartei (33 %).
Anhänger der Grünen und der FDP kennen die meisten Cannabis-Nutzer
Dass sie Personen in ihrem Familien-, Freundes- oder Bekanntenkreis kennen, die regelmäßig Cannabis-Produkte konsumieren, gibt fast jeder dritte Befragte (31 %) an. Auch hier trifft dies überdurchschnittlich häufig auf die jüngeren Befragten zu (30- bis 44-Jährige: 49 %; 14- bis 29-Jährige: 44 %) sowie die Anhänger der FDP (47 %), der Grünen (41 %) und der Linkspartei (35 %) zu.

Nahezu die Hälfte der Befragten hält Cannabis und Alkohol gleichermaßen für gefährlich
44 Prozent der Befragten halten Cannabis und Alkohol gleichermaßen für gefährlich, 11 Prozent finden, man könnte dies nicht vergleichen.
32 Prozent glauben, dass Alkohol gefährlicher als Cannabis ist
32 Prozent der Bundesbürger hingegen halten den Alkoholkonsum für gefährlicher. Dieser Auffassung ist insbesondere die Altersgruppe der 14- bis 29-Jährigen (48 %) sowie die Anhänger der Linkspartei (48 %), der FDP (45 %) und der Grünen (43 %).
Lediglich eine Minderheit von 11 Prozent glaubt, dass der Konsum von Cannabis-Produkten gefährlicher sei. Dies gilt insbesondere für die Anhänger der Union (24 %).

Majority of Germans fear adverse consequences of legalisation
Most respondents (61 %) believe that legalising cannabis would lead to more young people coming into contact with it than before. This is particularly believed by those over 60 (71 %) as well as supporters of the CDU/CSU (76 %) and the AfD (67 %).

Almost half of the respondents consider cannabis and alcohol equally dangerous

32 percent believe that alcohol is more dangerous than cannabis
32 percent of the German citizens, on the other hand, think that alcohol consumption is more dangerous. This opinion is particularly held by the age group of 14 to 29-year-olds (48 %) as well as supporters of the Left Party (48 %), the FDP (45 %) and the Greens (43 %). Only a minority of 11 % believe that the consumption of cannabis products is more dangerous. This is especially true for supporters of the CDU/CSU (24 %).
