Der CDU-Politiker Carsten Linnemann kritisiert seine eigene Partei, die im Bundestag nunmehr in der Opposition sitzt.
"Viele haben noch nicht verstanden, dass wir jetzt wirklich an einer Weggabelung stehen: in den Abgrund oder in die Zukunft", sagte er im Podcast "Die Wochentester" von "Kölner Stadt-Anzeiger" und "RedaktionsNetzwerk Deutschland" im Gespräch mit den Podcast-Moderatoren Wolfgang Bosbach und Christian Rach. Ausdrücklich unterstützte der Vorsitzende der Mittelstands- und Wirtschaftsunion die Bewerbung von Ex-Fraktionschef Friedrich Merz um den CDU-Vorsitz. So wie er Merz kenne, werde dieser "keine One-Man-Show machen, sondern im Gegenteil: Er hat das Ziel, die Partei zusammenzuführen. Wenn er das schafft, hat er sehr sehr viel erreicht."
CDU muss aus dem Schlafmodus raus
In der 16-jährigen Kanzlerschaft Angela machte Linnemann Defizite aus: "In Sachen Reformbereitschaft, in Sachen Reformwachheit hätte ich mir mehr gewünscht." Er gehe davon aus, dass der neue Bundeskanzler Olaf Scholz (SPD) in ähnlichem Stil regieren werde wie Merkel: "Ich denke, er wird unaufgeregt dieses Amt ausführen. Ich glaube, in einer Zeit der Aufgeregtheit sehnen sich die Menschen danach. Auf der anderen Seite sehen wir, dass wir aus dem Schlafmodus raus müssen, aus der Komfortzone und ans Morgen viel stärker denken müssen. Und viel weniger im Status Quo." pm, ots

I think in a time of excitement, people long for that. On the other hand, we see that we have to get out of sleep mode, out of the comfort zone and think of tomorrow much more.
