"Die Grundimmunisierung abzuschließen oder sich ein drittes Mal impfen zu lassen ist dringlich geboten!", sagte Klaus Cichutek, Präsident des Paul-Ehrlich-Instituts (PEI), im Interview mit der "Neuen Osnabrücker Zeitung" (NOZ). Der PEI-Präsident nahm Biontech und Moderna zugleich gegen den Verdacht in Schutz, aus Profitgründen noch keinen Impfstoff gegen die seit Längerem vorherrschende Delta-Variante produziert zu haben: Auf der Grundlage der aktuellen Daten sei es "folgerichtig, die Delta-Variante mit dem uns zur Verfügung stehenden Impfstoff zu bekämpfen", sagte er.
